Week one of Project Vanguard at work. They let us out at 5pm so that the international people could catch their evening flights back to Europe. So I decided to get a haircut in K-town.
Greyceee actually recommended this salon and I haven't stopped going since. I love my hairdresser in Ktown. She is this really adorable petite Korean girl who was born and raised in Guam. It's strange because her English isn't that great (even though it's her native tongue) and I can tell that her Korean sucks. Anyway, we've bonded because we go to the same bars and clubs in Ktown and we like to talk about movies.
So I asked her about the latest movies she's seen, what kind of movies she likes, whether or not she watches Korean movies. Her answers were Batman's Beginning (aka Batman Begins), action movies, and yes. Then I asked her if she would watch an American movie set in Koreatown directed by a Korean American filmmaker She had no expression on her face, so I further explained that it was a drama starring a combination of Korean American and Chinese American actors and it may or may not be directed by my boyfriend.
"Mmmm... probably not," she admitted. "But if you told me the name of the movie and when it was coming out, I'll go to watch it because you're my client."
How's that for brutal honesty?
